Storm ID were appointed following a competitive pitch to develop a digital strategy for this new re-branded organisation and to lay the foundations to build a dynamic web portal that will help the 500,000 people in Scotland’s largest city (and many more people outside it) engage with the huge range of cultural, community and sporting opportunities and services which are available to them.
Employing over 3,000 people, and previously home to 55 separate brand identities, the challenge of this project lay in unifying the Glasgow Life’s numerous services and making the organisation’s purpose and values transparent, consistent and engaging.
Glasgow Life also commissioned Storm ID to design and build their Intranet and it was agreed that a single enterprise technology platform such as SharePoint 2010 would be ideal for both. Storm ID are one of the few agencies in the UK on the prestigious Microsoft Partner Evidence Programme, so we’ve been given access to this new technology before any of our competitors.
Quality user centred design underpins the Glasgow Life website. We constructed an intuitive navigation and employed powerful Search tools to ensure that users can find what they are looking for quickly and easily, fulfilling the organisation’s vision of a “one-stop shop” website.
Extensive training and workshops were all part of the Storm ID offering, meaning that Glasgow Life’s employees are able to deal effectively with everything from the website’s administrative back-end to their new social media channels.
Glasgow Life’s new website is significant in two ways: it’s a huge success in terms of a highly visible brand overhaul, and it’s also built using the most groundbreaking technology platform available.
