Case Studies
Young Scot wanted a cutting edge consultation toolkit to provide their young audience with the facilities to share their views and opinions on important social issues.
They wanted to make it engaging, accessible, and tap into how young people engaged with the web today to ensure Scotland’s next generation make their voices heard.
With video at the heart of this solution, we combined a rich interface with micro-engagement through embedded, time-dependent questions and comments. Each consultation offers young people a series of relevant resources to explore the subject.
Users’ feedback was aggregated and sentiment was automatically extracted and combined with their answers to multiple choice questions and VisualDNA data to provide a detailed understanding of young people’s views on complex issues. This data was incorporated into reports contributing to Scottish Government policy.
As this repertoire of studies expands, young people will be able to check on previous consultations, explore the knowledge bank of resources and discover what happened as a result of the consultation being carried out.
Young Scot’s pilot consultation used ‘Says Who?’ survey findings to present their recommendations on how best to tackle drinking culture in Scotland.
They've gone about it in a pretty groundbreaking way, using "Youth Commissioners" to represent Scotland's future generation living with the effects of a current our cultural legacy.
We are, as ever, delighted with the innovative work that our digital partners at Storm ID undertook to create www.youngscotsayswho.org. As a partnership organisation Young Scot works with all 32 Local Authorities and with such a broad range of partners it is vital for us to remain on the cutting edge.
